Parking:

There are limited reserved parking spaces in the HQ building garage for Workshop attendees. Please contact LT Wilson T. VornDick, wilson.t.vorndick@uscg.mil / 202-372-3057 if you desire a parking space.

Metered street parking ($.75 per hr) and a $10 lot adjacent to the HQ is available on a first come first serve basis.

Security:

The main building entrance for all personnel not issued a CGHQ Security Badge, is the 2nd Street entrance (flag pole side-facing the marina and Fort McNair). Visiting Coast Guard and U.S. government civilian, military and contract personnel who do not have a CGHQ Security badge must:

  • Provide a U.S. Federal Government ID.
  • Provide second form of identification (i.e. Drivers License)
  • Submit themselves and any carried items to weapons screening.
  • Wear and display the "Government Personnel" visitor badge at all times.
All non-government visitor's are only authorized access into the CGHQ building via the 2nd street entrance. Visitor's must show a valid picture I.D., must be met, signed-in and escort by the CGHQ badge holder being visited. A representative from GMSA will meet you at the CGHQ Security Entrance at the appropriate time to escort you to the second floor.
